How much do you charge?
Every project is different, and every artist has a different starting point, so my rates vary from project to project depending on the individual needs of the artist. I absolutely will not take on an artist if either they or I am not confident that we can achieve their desired goals. My #1 aim is to help artists accelerate their journey and get traction with their music, so if I can’t help you with that, then I won’t take your money.
How long will it take to get my song release ready?
This varies wildly from artist to artist. It could be anywhere from a few days, to a month or more and largely depends on how good and quickly you can communicate with me. If you have a solid song already, and are a great, fast communicator, then it could be turned around inside of a week. If you need some help or guidance with the writing, or you take time to reply to emails, then it could take longer.
Do I need to be able to play an instrument?
Absolutely not! I am a multi-instrumentalist and also have an extensive network of talented session musicians should you need anything that falls out of my expertise. This also includes session singers - so if you’re a great songwriter, but not a great singer, we can still realise your songs full potential and match it to the correct vocalist. If you are a great instrumentalist, and you want to perform on your track, then we can absolutely make that happen!
How do I know Big Picture Production will work for me?
The independent artist market is hugely saturated and great music alone is not enough to make you successful. You need new and alternate ways of connecting with fans and forming deep relationships. Although Spotify is a terrible revenue stream for artists in the early days, it is an excellent discovery platform that is growing year on year. It also has extremely sophisticated AI that can put your music in front of new listeners who will love it, and also has incredibly valuable fan data you can access to learn more about how to grow your listeners. As part of the Big Picture Production process I will be teaching you how to utilise all of this information so that the decisions you make as an artist are based on data and not just hoping for the best. The aim is to ensure your growth follows the ‘snowball effect’ which is exponential!
What are my options for recording vocals?
Wherever you are in the world, we will get a great vocal recording. When we reach that part of the process, you have 3 options:
- If you have the equipment and ability to get great vocal takes at home, great! I will guide you through this process so we get exactly what you need.
- If you wish to travel to my studio you can come here and record the vocals here with me.
- If neither of these options are possible, I will research studios that are local to you and liaise with the engineer there to get your vocals recorded and sent back to me.
